Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 21, 2026

ReactionF1 (ReactionF1.com) ("we", "us", or "our") operates this website, including the F1 start reaction time game and educational guides. This page explains how we handle information when you use the Service. By using the site, you agree to this policy and our Terms of Service.

Information We Collect

Game Statistics (Local Storage)

We store your game data locally on your device using your browser's localStorage feature:

  • Your personal best reaction time
  • Your current streak count
  • Total number of attempts

This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to our servers. You can clear this data at any time by clearing your browser's local storage or using your browser's "Clear Site Data" feature.

Analytics and performance

We use privacy-conscious analytics to understand how the site is used and to improve performance. Depending on configuration, this may include:

  • Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights - product analytics and Web Vitals-style performance data, typically in aggregate.
  • Google Analytics 4 (GA4) - only loaded when a measurement ID is configured in our environment. It uses cookies or similar technology as described in Google's documentation.
  • Microsoft Clarity - session analytics (for example heatmaps) only when a Clarity project ID is configured.

We use this information in aggregate to improve the Service. We do not use these tools to know your name, email, or in-game local scores from your device.

Cookies and similar technologies

What you may see today

  • Essential storage: required for basic site operation (and first-party app behavior).
  • Analytics: Vercel Analytics / Speed Insights; and, when we configure them, GA4 and Clarity, which may set cookies or use storage as described by those providers.

Cookies & Ads

Production default: Optional display-advertising placements and related integrations may exist in the application, but they are not turned on in production by default. Showing ads requires an explicit deployment configuration (environment toggles plus valid publisher and placement settings). Supporting code paths alone do not mean ads are visible. If these settings change materially, we will update this disclosure.

Third-party display ads are not required to use ReactionF1. When advertising is enabled, we keep it limited to selected static educational pages and avoid the core game, challenge URLs, help pages, and legal/trust pages. The goal is to support the free original tool without placing ads near the reaction test itself or encouraging accidental taps.

Ad networks, including Google AdSense if approved and active, may set cookies or use similar technologies to measure delivery, cap frequency, detect invalid traffic, and combat fraud. Depending on your region, account settings, consent choices, and Google's systems, ads may be contextual or personalized. You can learn more about how Google uses information from sites and apps that use its services at Google's partner sites policy.

We do not sell your local game statistics, and your personal-best data stored in localStorage is not sent to ad networks by the ReactionF1 game code. Our broader advertising and editorial separation standards are described in the editorial policy.

We do not currently deploy a full third-party consent management platform (CMP) on this site. We document our actual data practices here and keep ad placement conservative until a consent and choice flow is in place for regions where the law requires it before non-essential cookies (including many advertising cookies) are set. If you are in the EEA, UK, Switzerland, or other regions with opt-in consent requirements, you should not assume that personalized advertising is active-when in doubt, use browser controls and the opt-out and industry tools described in this policy.

Before we enable personalized advertising in such markets, we expect to add an appropriate consent or settings experience aligned with then-current regulatory guidance. This section will be updated when that happens.

Your Choices and Opt-Out Options

You have several options to control how your data is used:

Analytics Opt-Out

You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Microsoft Clarity respects Do Not Track and common privacy signals.

Browser Controls

Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can usually find these settings in the "Options" or "Preferences" menu of your browser. You can set your browser to block or delete cookies, though this may affect the functionality of some websites.

Clear Local Game Data

To clear your game statistics stored in localStorage, you can:

  • Use your browser's developer tools to clear localStorage
  • Clear your browser's site data for reactionf1.com
  • Use your browser's "Clear browsing data" feature

Children's Privacy

Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we can take necessary actions.

Third-Party Links

Our website may contain links to other sites that are not operated by us. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that third party's site. We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of every site you visit. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.

Changes to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
